Home, away, third: reading a jersey reference
Use the team name, catalogue season and reference number together. A familiar colour alone may not identify the shirt.
Choose the exact reference
Start with the team and the catalogue season, then compare the front and back photographs. Home, away and third are labels that distinguish designs. Special and commemorative editions can add further variations.
Look at what the photographs establish
Compare the neckline, sleeve trim, pattern, chest marks and back design. If there are multiple photographs in one reference, check that the version you want is clear. Ask for current photographs if the supplied options differ.
Ask about the supplied version
A catalogue name or image does not establish material composition, an official release, licensing, player specifications or dimensions. Ask the supplier to confirm the exact construction, cut and included pieces for your order.
Be precise about extras
Names, numbers and sleeve patches should be discussed separately. Do not assume that an item visible in a photograph is included or that personalisation is available. Confirm the agreed text, options, price and any relevant return conditions before payment.
Record the product link
Send the direct link and reference number with your enquiry. This is more precise than a team name alone, especially when several designs share similar colours.
